How to hire a Website Designer

Who do you trust?

It has been my experience, (in hindsight) I should have asked more questions???? before I allowed my partner to sign a contract that was one-sided. Who could have guessed?, that someone could forfeit your deposit, because you didn't meet their 30 day deadline to start your website. Was it because they said, you fofeited by not making the deadline to deliver the "contents". What are the "contents"? You thought you gave them everything, but now, they claim you didn't???

A one-sided contract is a license to forfeit the client's money.

Sure, the website designers need to protect themselves against clients, who try to get them to do more work than they had agreed upon.

All I'm saying here is... I needed to ASK the simple questions of:

ASK:
What websites have you designed? (look at them, see how they work/navigate and ask questions how they work.

ASK:
Can I contact your client(s) to verify how they liked the experience of working with you (the website designer).
Ask if they would recommend this website designer?

ASK:
How much money do you charge to develop a website like the one(s) I liked from portfolio?
(the website designer's portfolio)

Asking these questions in advance, could save you from forfeiting your deposit. Providing your potential website designer is honest.

Oh... If the website designer says... "Don't worry, I won't SCREW YOU" DON"T SIGN!
